Zoë is a dynamic leader with over 9 years of experience in scaling start-ups, healthcare management, and innovative solutions in the medical and social impact sectors. With a passion for creating positive change in healthcare systems and an entrepreneurial spirit, Zoë has demonstrated her ability to build successful businesses, manage complex projects, and drive strategic growth across various industries, including healthcare, technology, and non-profit sectors.
In her current role as Advocacy and Public Policy Manager at Gidget Foundation Australia (GFA), Zoë supports the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in developing, coordinating, and implementing a range of advocacy, public policy, and stakeholder engagement initiatives to support the delivery of GFA's strategic pillars. She is responsible for nurturing existing relationships and developing new ones to advocate on behalf of GFA.
Her previous work at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Zoë brought her expertise to developing digital health initiatives, and strategy to scale educational tools designed for children with and without cognitive impairment. Before this, Zoë worked as General Manager at Doctors on Call, where she played a key role in scaling this Aged Care Clinical and Telehealth service from 4 to 47 locations, through the recruitment of clinicians, the integration of multiple digital platforms including telehealth and e-prescribing, and subsequent management of regulatory processes. Zoë’s hands-on approach and ability to manage complex partnerships, including with facility managers, nursing staff, and external stakeholders, were crucial in scaling the organisation’s services.
In addition to her healthcare leadership, Zoë is the Australian editor of the Cambridge-Oxford publication the Innovation and Impact Scientific Technology Business Journal, where she shares insights into the commercialisation of scientific technologies in Australia. She has also produced and hosted Beyond the Medicine Cabinet and Discover St Vincent’s, in collaboration with the St Vincent’s Hospital Curran Foundation, two podcasts that spotlight innovation and the impact of healthcare across the Australian ecosystem.
Zoë has completed a Bachelor of Medical Science, a Master of International Public Health, and a Master of Health Law, all from the University of Sydney. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Macquarie University and was a successful recipient of a scholarship from Women in Leadership Australia to complete her MBA from Deakin University.
A passionate advocate for mental health and social impact, her thesis in her Graduate Diploma of Psychology, focused on the impact of cognitive biases and anxiety on healthcare decision-making. This aligns with her commitment to advancing policies and practices that enhance patient care and support mental well-being for individuals across the lifespan.
When Zoë is not at work, you’ll find her hiking, reading with her dogs, or doing breathwork with her friends.
