Yvette is a registered psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with Indigenous community mental health and wellbeing, private practice and clinical research. She has particular interest in adjustment to parenting, perinatal anger and scary thoughts, parent-infant attachment, and healing after traumatic birth experiences.
Yvette shares a warm and welcoming online counselling space and you are likely to experience her empathic and frank approach, as well as her quirky sense of humour. Yvette holds a deep respect for culture and family systems, and the foundation of connection, relationship and collaboration with clients and their families.
Yvette’s therapeutic approach is person-centred, flexible and responsive to client’s needs. She works from a range of approaches including emotion focused and attachment-based approaches, schema therapy, CBT, ACT, mindfulness and more. Further, Yvette has a deep understanding of the complexities of trauma and strong intervention skills in this area, including supporting trauma healing with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).
