Shannon is a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology. She has worked across a variety of settings, including community-based organisations, the tertiary sector, and public mental health. In addition to her work with the Gidget Foundation, Shannon supports families who engage with a Perinatal Community Mental Health Service and facilitates access to the associated Parent and Infant Unit.
Shannon is a warm and compassionate practitioner who aims to provide a safe space for client reflection. She adopts a collaborative, strengths-based approach to address the unique needs of each client. Shannon offers evidence-based therapies that aim to improve psychological well-being and support clients in sustaining meaningful change. She draws from a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), schema therapy (ST), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), attachment theory, and trauma-informed care. Shannon is also a certified facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting Program.
Shannon is passionate about supporting parents during the perinatal phase and has a particular interest in perinatal adjustment, recovery from birth trauma, parent-infant attachment relationships and perinatal loss.
