Nancy Jeffrey was born in Darwin on Larrakia Country and is a proud Woolwonga descendant.

Nancy's previous roles included, State Manager for Save the Children – from a team of 3 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander workers to a team of 29 with 28 being Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community workers, Nancy worked in this position for 14 years.

Nancy has also won the NT Telstra Business awards in 2012. Her other previous role was as a Portfolio Lead at the Healing Foundation, working alongside the Stolen Generation and community.  

Nancy's current role at Emerging Minds Australia is an Advisor – Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Social & Emotional Wellbeing Portfolio in the Partnerships & Implementation team.  

Nancy is currently enrolled in the cert IV Mental Health Peer Support at CDU.

Nancy believes in the power of education and she is passionate about change for her people and is keen to see the next generation of Indigenous children succeed and become leaders within all of her communities.  

Nancy finds that in working together with others we have the capacity to make a real difference and that is what she will bring to Gidget Foundation Australia.
