Liz is a mental health accredited social worker with over 19 years of experience in non-government mental health organisations. She is committed to supporting families during their transition to parenthood by creating a therapeutic context that is kind, compassionate, and encouraging.
Liz takes a client-centred approach, prioritising collaboration, choice, and safety in the therapeutic process. She has worked across the age span with a depth of experience in life stage adjustment, complex trauma recovery, child development, grief and loss, and cross-cultural practice. Liz believes that promoting parental well-being during the perinatal period provides the foundation for thriving family relationships in the future.
Liz prefers an integrative approach, drawing on her training in grief and loss, trauma-informed practice, acceptance and commitment therapy, and polyvagal and attachment theory. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Play and Childhood and is a certified facilitator in the attachment-based Circle of Security program.
