Jess is an Accredited Mental Health Social Work Practitioner who has over 20 years experience providing compassionate and evidence-based psychotherapy and mental health care in community and inpatient settings. She is registered with the Australian Association of Social Worker (AASW) and holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Masters in Mental Health Science and an Advanced Diploma of Management. She is also accredited to provide non-directive pregnancy counselling.
Jess is passionate about inclusivity and supporting all kinds of families to thrive. She is collaborative and strengths-focused in her approach and has training in a variety of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Parent-Infant Psychotherapy.
She is particularly interested in providing responsive, individualised care to people who experience challenges related to birth trauma, adjustment to parenting and attachment. She also has extensive experience in working with anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, OCD, eating disorders and body image concerns.
