Jami is a proud Wiradjuri Woman born on Gaimariagal Country. She is a dedicated mother and an experienced nurse with over 10 years of working across emergency, intensive care, general wards, and community health. Currently, she is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Northern Sydney Local Health District Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Service, where she is committed to improving health outcomes for mob.
Jami is passionate about creating culturally safe spaces in healthcare, ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples feel respected and supported when engaging in care. Beyond her professional role, she deeply values the importance of family, connection, and wellbeing.
As a mum, Jami has firsthand experience navigating the challenges of parenthood, including the impact on social and emotional wellbeing. Her own journey with PNDA has strengthened her advocacy for perinatal mental health and the need for accessible, culturally responsive support for parents and caregivers.
