Holly Smith is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a Master of Counselling Social Work and over 21 years of clinical experience in the non-government and health sectors. In addition to her work with the Gidget Foundation Holly has a private practice based in Southeast Sydney working with children, adults and families.

Holly is a warm and compassionate counsellor who prioritises her relationship with the client to create a safe and supportive place for the client to feel heard and seen.

She has been working with parents in the perinatal field for around 5 years on issues including birth trauma, stillbirth, anxiety, depression, family violence and adjustment top arenting.  She has extensive experience working with anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, separated families, family violence, military personnel and their families.

Holly will work with her clients to enhance their strengths and develop coping strategies to help them navigate the difficulties they are experiencing. She uses various focused psychological strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, InterpersonalTherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Psycho education.
