Rose is an AHPRA-approved psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Honours and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
What to expect from a first session with Rose:
Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you have previously seen other psychologist(s), Rose will help you feel comfortable in the therapy room. Her approach is warm and compassionate, with an emphasis on tailoring therapy to each individual. After understanding a bit about your past and present, Rose will work with you to design a treatment plan for moving forward through therapy. This plan may look different for each person and can include:
- Understanding emotional, physical and cognitive adjustment to pregnancy and parenthood
- Gaining skills to manage anxiety, stress, burnout, or general overwhelm
- Learning how to improve low mood
- Dealing with grief and loss
- Understanding how to identify, accept, and communicate your emotions (no matter how unpleasant they may feel!)
- Getting ‘unstuck’
- Learning how to ask for and accept help from others
- Understanding and changing unhelpful behavioral and thought patterns
- Gaining a deeper understanding of yourself
Rose has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with specific expertise in autism, brain injury, and perinatal mental health. She enjoys working from a strengths-based approach, believing that every individual has inherent skills but may need support in identifying and applying them. Rose utilises techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), with a particular passion for Schema Therapy.
