Gidget Foundation Australia is made up of a dedicated group of health professionals, parents, friends, family members, and supporters – all of whom share a passion for raising awareness of Perinatal Depression and Anxiety.
Gidget was the nickname of a vibrant young mother who tragically took her own life while
suffering postnatal depression.
Gidget Foundation Australia is a not for profit organisation that provides programs to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents.
We raise awareness of perinatal depression and anxiety and provide support for those in need.
To mark our 20th anniversary Gidget Foundation Australia embarked on a cultural awareness program to ensure that every aspect of our organisation and our supportive treatment services are both diverse and inclusive in nature.
A special group of individuals who ‘fly the flag’ for Gidget Foundation Australia, and have gone above and beyond in supporting our mission.
Gidget’s sisters and friends remain the backbone of our organisation.
Gidget Foundation Australia is governed by a passionate and committed Board of Directors.
The clinical work of Gidget Foundation Australia is overseen by a Clinical Governance Committee.
A committee focussed on the opportunities for us to embed understanding and celebration of First Nations Peoples and culture in our organisation, build new partnerships and expand our connection at the personal, organisational and community levels.
Gidget Foundation Australia is operated by a small dedicated team of professional staff and experienced volunteers.
